Here we have a fantastic, extremely rare Gibson SF 17 Venetian in a beautiful Sunburst finish from 2016. Crafted in the Crimson division of the Gibson Custom Shop, where, as is well known, only the very best instruments are built from the finest woods and materials. This modern archtop guitar boasts innovative construction techniques. The solid spruce top along with the solid maple back and sides are shaped under pressure, resulting in significantly less wood consumption compared to traditional carving, while also noticeably improving the guitar's responsiveness. This hollowbody guitar thus delivers a wonderfully sonorous sound with a sweet high-frequency range, the perfect foundation for modern Jazz. Furthermore, it features a Gibson Johnny Smith mini-humbucker, which along with its potentiometers is mounted on the pickguard, ensuring it doesn't interfere with the top's vibration. With its narrow magnetic field the pickup transmits the guitar's sound to the amplifier with natural projection and dynamics, captivating with top-notch Jazz tones: a pleasantly warm, resonant and open tone, always beautifully articulated, full, and expressive. Furthermore, the height-adjustable rosewood bridge is compensated for precise intonation and also contributes to the instrument's characteristic tone. But this semi-hollow guitar also impresses across the board with its stunning appearance and perfect playability. The maple back is extremely figured, displaying a beautifully three-dimensional effect and fantastic bookmatching. The Sunburst finish is exceptionally attractive and pronounced, the curved Gibson inlay on the headstock exudes traditional vibes and the deep, dark rosewood fingerboard, combined with the comfortable medium neck profile, invites hours of arpeggios.
